What does kombucha taste like?Updated 8 days ago

Kombucha takes on different flavors depending on how it is made, processed, and the ingredients added. Raw kombucha, which has not been pasteurized, tastes sweet and tart, slightly more astringent than conventional sodas, and very refreshing.

The type of tea used in production plays a major role in shaping the flavor and results in kombucha with a more or less intense taste. The source of sugar used during fermentation also plays a crucial role. By adding various fruit juices, the kombucha’s flavor can be customized during the secondary fermentation.

Our kombucha varieties offer a surprising range of flavors, from sweet and tart to ginger-spicy to fruity and exotic. We use green tea and raw cane sugar as a base.

You can also mix kombucha—especially our Original—with water or other juices, or use it as a base in a wide variety of cocktails. Feel free to browse our blog for delicious recipes!

In general, though, kombucha is like other new drinks—such as that first sip of Coke or Club Mate— and it just takes a little getting used to :)
